💎 Daily Diamonds – Commands of Christ: Beware of False Prophets

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits.”Matthew 7:15–16

⚠️ The Command

Jesus warns us to stay alert. False prophets don’t arrive waving banners of deception—they blend in, often using spiritual language and appearing harmless. But their message is poison wrapped in honey.

📜 Word Study

  • Beware – Greek: prosechete (προσέχετε, pro-SEH-he-teh) – “pay close attention, guard against.”
  • False prophets – Greek: pseudoprophētēs (ψευδοπροφήτης, pseu-do-pro-FAY-tace) – one who pretends to speak for God but does not.

🔍 Recognizing Them

  • By their fruits – Not just words, but character, conduct, and long-term results.
  • Twist Scripture to fit culture instead of calling culture to repentance.
  • Promote self over Christ, comfort over holiness.

💎 Diamond of Truth

Truth and error are not always separated by miles—they can be one verse apart. We must measure every teacher by the Word of God, not by personality, charisma, or popularity.

💬 Reflect and Respond

  • Am I testing teaching against Scripture, or just trusting my feelings?
  • Do I have godly counsel to help me discern truth from error?
