âTherefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.â â Matthew 6:34
Jesus speaks right into the restless heart. Tomorrow looms large for most of usâwhat if this happens? What if that doesnât? But here comes a divine command wrapped in comfort: Do not worry about tomorrow. Not because tomorrow wonât matterâbut because your Father holds it.
Anxiety drains today of strength without changing a single detail about tomorrow. Jesus isnât calling for recklessnessâHeâs inviting you to release control. Your calling is to trust Him for today and let Him handle whatâs ahead.
đ Word Study
Anxious (Greek: merimnaĹ, ΟξĎΚΟνΏĎ) â to be pulled apart, to be divided and distracted by care or fear.
It paints the image of a mind torn in pieces. Jesus calls us to wholenessâby focusing on todayâs grace instead of tomorrowâs unknowns.
đ A Diamond of Truth
Worry is a thief. It steals your peace, your sleep, your joy. But Jesus offers a better way: trust for today, and grace for tomorrow. He gives daily bread, not weekly stockpiles. Each day has its own supply of mercyâand yes, its own trouble. But you donât face either alone.
Your job is not to carry tomorrowâs burdensâjust to walk with the One who already stands in tomorrow.
đŹ Reflect and Respond
- What future fear is stealing your present peace?
- How can you practice trust in todayâs grace?
- Are you carrying burdens God hasnât asked you to bear?
Donât borrow worry. Donât rehearse the worst-case.
Trust the God of todayâHeâs already in your tomorrow.
