Key Verse:
βLet the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord.β β Psalm 19:14 (ESV)
The Discipline of Guarding the Tongue
Words build or break, heal or hurt, bless or burn. The tongue is small but powerful β a spark that can ignite revival or ruin (James 3:5). The discipline of guarding our speech makes our mouth a vessel of grace.
Jesus taught that words reveal the heart (Luke 6:45). Transformation begins not in the tongue, but in the thoughts that feed it. Silence is sometimes wisdom; gentle words often are power.
Spirit-led speech blesses instead of bites, prays instead of poisons, and praises instead of criticizes. Our lips belong to the Lord β may they carry life, not death.
Words are windows to the heart β polish the window, and Christ will shine through.
