The Discipline of Holy Imagination
Holy imagination is the Spirit-directed ability to envision life through God’s eyes—to see beyond the present moment and into the promises of God. It is the discipline of fixing the mind not on “what is,” but on “what God has said,” “what God is doing,” and “what God will complete.”
Abraham imagined a nation while holding only a promise. Joseph dreamed of leadership while locked in a cell. John saw the New Jerusalem while exiled on Patmos. Holy imagination empowers faith to look past circumstances and embrace future glory.
This discipline guards the mind from negativity, fear, and despair. It teaches us to meditate on Scripture until hope rises, peace settles, and vision expands. Holy imagination turns promises into prayers and prayers into perseverance.
What the mind focuses on, the heart follows. Fix your imagination on heaven, and earth loses its grip.
