The Discipline of Quietness Before God
The modern world is loud, hurried, and demanding. But God often speaks in whispers, not shouts. Quietness before God is the discipline of slowing the mind, stilling the heart, and creating space for God’s voice to be heard.
Quietness is not emptiness — it is attentiveness. It is choosing “Mary’s portion,” sitting at Jesus’ feet while the world rushes by. When our thoughts settle, the Spirit brings clarity. When our hearts quiet, the Father brings comfort. When the noise fades, wisdom rises.
Isaiah promises that strength is found in quietness and trust. Spiritual power is not gained through frantic striving but through restful surrender. Quietness becomes a sanctuary where fear dissolves and peace settles deep.
A quiet heart becomes a canvas where God paints His peace.
