Key Verse:
βBe still, and know that I am God.β β Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
The Discipline of Rest (Sabbath Rhythm)
God created rest before sin ever existed. Sabbath is not recovery from exhaustion β it is rhythm with heaven. The discipline of rest acknowledges that God rules while we sleep and provides while we pause.
Jesus said, βCome to Meβ¦ and I will give you restβ (Matthew 11:28). Rest is not inactivity β it is intimacy. It is stepping away from strain to sit in His strength. Rest recalibrates the heart, resets priorities, and renews joy.
Sabbath reminds us we are creatures, not machines; children, not slaves. When we stop striving, God keeps sustaining. Worship, stillness, and delight are holy work.
Rest isn’t laziness β it’s loyalty. Sabbath says, βGod is in control β not me.β
