Biblical Pronouns: Women

She Shall Be Praised – God’s Identity for Women

From the series: Biblical Pronouns – Who Does God Say That I Am?

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30 (ESV)

True Praise for God’s Daughters

In today’s world, womanhood is either idolized or ignored. But God’s Word speaks clearly: He sees women as valuable, virtuous, and vital to His kingdom. The pronoun “she” in Scripture is often followed by words like “shall be praised,” “is blessed,” and “opens her mouth with wisdom.” This is no accident. It is God’s design.

1. She Is Clothed with Strength and Dignity

Proverbs 31:25 says, “Strength and dignity are her clothing.” God’s ideal woman is not a stereotype—she’s strong, wise, and clothed in character. Her dignity is not in appearance, but in who she is before the Lord.

Application: A godly woman doesn’t chase culture’s ever-changing image of beauty. She embraces God’s unchanging call to holiness, honor, and strength.

2. She Opens Her Mouth with Wisdom

Words can build or break, heal or harm. The woman who fears God speaks life. Her tongue is not for gossip or gain, but for grace and guidance.

Cross-Reference: Titus 2:3-5 — Women are called to teach, encourage, and exemplify godliness to the next generation.

3. She Fears the Lord

This is the foundation of her praise. It’s not her charm, intellect, or beauty that earns eternal applause—it’s her reverence for God. Her life points upward. Her priorities reflect eternity.

Cross-Reference: Luke 1:45 — “Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

4. She Shall Be Praised

God honors the faithful woman. Her family rises to bless her. Her works praise her in the gates. This praise isn’t shallow—it’s the echo of a life poured out in worship, wisdom, and work.

Cross-Reference: Proverbs 31:28-29 — “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”

A Call to Biblical Womanhood

“She shall be praised” isn’t a social slogan—it’s a divine declaration. God values women of integrity, influence, and insight. In every season of life, a woman’s worth is defined by who she is in Christ, not by what the world demands.

Other Key Scriptures:

  • 1 Peter 3:3-5 – “…let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart…”
  • Proverbs 14:1 – “The wisest of women builds her house…”
  • 2 Timothy 1:5 – The legacy of Lois and Eunice in Timothy’s faith.

Life Application Questions:

  1. Do you define your worth based on God’s Word or the world’s voices?
  2. What kind of legacy are you building with your words, time, and love?
  3. Who are you mentoring or encouraging in their walk with Christ?
