1 Peter 1:4 (ESV) – “…an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.”
We spend our lives surrounded by things that fade—flowers wilt, homes age, accounts rise and fall. But for the child of God, there is something waiting that cannot be touched by time, decay, or loss: an eternal inheritance, kept in Heaven for you.
This inheritance isn’t based on merit or money—it is the promise of grace. You didn’t earn it. Jesus secured it. Heirs don’t work for the inheritance—they receive it because they belong. And in Christ, we are more than servants—we are sons and daughters of the King.
Paul writes, “If children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17). What belongs to Him has been shared with us. That means our inheritance isn’t earthly—it’s eternal. And it’s already waiting.
Heaven is the fullness of that inheritance: unhindered access to God, complete righteousness, unending joy, and eternal life. No taxes. No thieves. No fear of losing it. Just the everlasting treasure of being with Christ and like Christ—forever.
You may not have much in this world—but in Heaven, your name is on the deed.
Ephesians 1:11 – “In him we have obtained an inheritance…”
Colossians 1:12 – “…giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”
Revelation 21:7 – “The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.”
Life Application: The world offers temporary treasures. But God has reserved something greater for His children. Don’t live like a beggar when you’ve been promised an inheritance. Your name is written in Heaven—and your inheritance is waiting.
