Revelation 21:3 (ESV) – “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.”
Heaven is filled with wonders—radiance, reunion, rest, and reward. But above them all is this: God is there. He is not just the Giver of good gifts—He is the greatest gift. The crown of Heaven is Christ.
When God spoke to Abraham, He didn’t begin with promises of land or legacy. He said, “I am your shield; your very great reward” (Genesis 15:1). That truth stretches beyond the patriarch—it reaches every believer. God doesn’t just give a reward—He is the reward.
Psalm 73 echoes the cry of every soul satisfied in Him: “Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.” All other blessings—peace, joy, reunion—flow from Him. They are beautiful not only for what they are, but because they bring us closer to Him.
In Heaven, we will not long for anything else. Our searching will be over. Our hunger will be filled. Our eyes will finally see the One we were made for. And in that moment, we’ll know—every sacrifice, every trial, every tear was worth it.
Heaven is not just about what we gain—it’s about whom we gain.
Psalm 73:25 – “Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.”
John 17:24 – “Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory…”
Revelation 22:4 – “They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.”
Life Application: What are you chasing? What do you long for? Let your heart settle on this: the greatest joy in Heaven isn’t what’s around the throne—it’s Who is on it. One day, you’ll see Him. And He will be enough. Forever.
