Daily Diamonds – Heaven: A Promised Reunion

1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 (ESV) – “And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive… will be caught up together with them… and so we will always be with the Lord.”

Heaven is more than a destination. It is a reunion.

When we step into eternity, we don’t arrive alone. We are welcomed into the company of saints, reunited with loved ones who knew Christ, and surrounded by a “great cloud of witnesses” who’ve gone before us.

There will be recognition, not erasure. Restoration, not forgetfulness. David said of his son, “I shall go to him” (2 Samuel 12:23). Jesus spoke of seeing Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom (Luke 13:28). The mount of transfiguration revealed Moses and Elijah in full, glorified personhood. Heaven is the restoration of relationship in its purest form—centered around Christ.

In Heaven, every painful goodbye will be answered by a joyful hello.

Hebrews 12:1 (ESV) – “We are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses…”

Luke 13:28 (ESV) – “You will see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God.”
