Daily Diamonds – Heaven: The Book of Life

Revelation 20:12, 15 (ESV) – “…and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life… and if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

In Heaven, there is a book more sacred than all others. It is not bound in leather or kept in glass. It is held by the Judge of all the earth—and it contains the names of those who belong to Him. The Book of Life.

This is not a metaphor. This is a record. A register of the redeemed. It appears again and again in Scripture—not just as a theological idea, but as the determining line between judgment and eternal joy.

Those written in it are not perfect people. They are purchased people. Their names were not earned by good works but written by grace—before the foundation of the world. Their entry is not in ink but in blood—the blood of the Lamb.

The Book of Life is Heaven’s roll call. It is the confirmation of citizenship. It is the welcome list of the wedding feast.

And here is the most staggering truth: your name can be written there. Not by ceremony or moral striving, but by trusting Christ as Savior and Lord. Once entered, your name is never erased. No power in Heaven or on earth can blot out what the Lamb has sealed in love.

Luke 10:20 – “…rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Philippians 4:3 – “…whose names are in the book of life.”

Revelation 13:8 – “…written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.”

Life Application:
Is your name written in Heaven? If so, rejoice! You are eternally secure, sealed by the blood of the Lamb. If not—or if you are unsure—call upon Jesus today. Confess your need, receive His mercy, and rest in the assurance that Heaven will one day call your name.
