Revelation 21:23 (ESV) – “And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.”
When John looked at the New Jerusalem, there was something missing—something so ordinary we might never imagine Heaven without it: the sun and the moon.
But they are not needed. In the City of God, the Lamb is the lamp. The glory of Jesus radiates so brilliantly, so warmly, so endlessly, that there is no darkness, no shadow, no night. His presence is the light that fills every street, every corner, every heart.
This is no borrowed light, no flickering flame. This is the unveiled brilliance of the Risen Christ—the same glory that once lit the Mount of Transfiguration, the same splendor that blinded Saul on the road to Damascus, now shining without filter or veil.
And the most beautiful truth? We will not shrink from it. We will not fear it. We will bask in it. We who were once separated by sin will be drawn forever into the light of His love. Every step will be lit by His radiance. Every moment will be illuminated by His smile.
We do not merely enter Heaven to see streets of gold—we enter to walk in the light of the Lamb.
Heaven is not merely bright—it is brilliantly personal, because the Light is the Lamb Himself.
John 8:12 – “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
Isaiah 60:19–20 – “The sun shall be no more your light by day… the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall be ended.”
1 John 1:5 – “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
Life Application: Are you walking through darkness today? Let your heart lift toward the Lamb. The light that awaits you is not fragile—it is forever. And even now, by faith, His light shines in your soul, leading you home, step by step, day by day.
