Revelation 1:15 (ESV) – “…his voice was like the roar of many waters.”
When John turned to see the glorified Christ, he was overcome—not just by what he saw, but by what he heard. The voice of Jesus, risen and reigning, roared like many waters—like a thousand waterfalls rushing at once. It wasn’t noise. It was majesty. Power. Unmistakable authority.
That voice once spoke in whispers to weary hearts. It wept beside tombs. It calmed seas and called children. But in glory, the voice of the Lamb is also the voice of the Lion. Not silent. Not subdued. But sovereign. And Heaven is filled with it.
Imagine standing in the presence of that sound—not afraid, but filled with awe. The same voice that called Lazarus from the tomb… that said “It is finished”… will one day call your name. And you will know: every syllable is love, every word is truth, every tone is perfect peace.
Like the thunder of Niagara or the crashing of ocean surf, His voice fills the city—not to drown us, but to draw us in. This is the voice of our Shepherd-King, and in Heaven, we will hear Him clearly at last.
Psalm 29:3–4 – “The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders… The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.”
John 10:27 – “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
Revelation 14:2 – “…and I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder…”
Life Application:
The world is noisy. But the voice that matters most still speaks. You may hear Him now in quiet whispers through His Word—but one day, you will hear Him in fullness and power. Train your heart now to listen, so when the waters roar, you’ll recognize your Redeemer’s voice.
