Revelation 22:1 (ESV) – “Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.”
At the center of Heaven, above the golden street and beyond the gates of pearl, there is a throne. Not two thrones, but one—the throne of God and of the Lamb.
This throne is unlike any we’ve known. It is not a seat of human power or corrupted politics—it is the place from which life flows, where justice reigns, and where mercy shines in full strength. From beneath it, the river of life begins—crystal clear and eternal.
In Revelation 4 and 5, we saw the throne surrounded by emerald light, thunder, living creatures, and worship without ceasing. And now, we are brought near. This is the throne from which Christ rules forever—as the Lamb who was slain, yet lives. He shares the throne with the Father, for He is One with Him.
To be in Heaven is not simply to find rest. It is to be gathered near the throne—to worship, to rejoice, and to live in the overflow of God’s perfect presence. Everything radiates from this center: identity, purpose, joy, and eternal light.
And one day, you will stand before it—not in fear, but in fullness. Because of the Lamb, you belong near the throne.
Revelation 4:2–3 – “…behold, a throne stood in heaven… and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald.”
Revelation 5:6–13 – “…a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain… To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor…”
Hebrews 4:16 – “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace…”
Life Application:
When your world feels unstable, lift your eyes to the throne. There is one throne—and it is not empty. It is ruled by love, by holiness, by the Lamb who gave Himself for you. Draw near now by faith—and one day, by sight.
