“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love…” – Deuteronomy 7:9
When people let you down, promises are broken, and plans unravel, there’s a name that steadies the soul: El HaNe’eman, “The Faithful God.”
This is the name Moses used to describe the God who had delivered Israel, guided them through the wilderness, and never failed to keep a single word of His covenant. His people may have doubted and strayed—but God remained faithful.
📜 Word Study
El HaNe’eman (אֵל הַנֶּאֱמָן, pronounced El hah-neh-eh-MAHN) combines El (“God”) with ne’eman, meaning “faithful, trustworthy, dependable.” This title emphasizes that God is not just loving—He is loyally consistent. He will do what He says, every time, forever.
The Hebrew root aman (the same root for “amen”) means to support, uphold, or confirm. It paints the picture of One you can lean on completely, without fear of collapse.
💎 A Diamond of Truth
El HaNe’eman never forgets, never fails, never flakes. His promises are not like human contracts—they are blood-sealed and heaven-backed.
Even when you are faithless, He remains faithful (2 Timothy 2:13). He cannot deny Himself. And because of that, you can build your life on His Word without fear of betrayal.
