When life feels uncertain, and your sense of identity begins to blur, there is a name that calls you back to center: Jehovah Hoseenu, “The Lord Our Maker.”
This name is both humbling and comforting. It reminds us that we are not accidents. We were formed, fashioned, and purposed by a personal God. And because He made us, He knows how to sustain us, correct us, and fulfill us.
📜 Word Study
Hoseenu (עֹשֵׂנוּ) comes from the Hebrew verb asah, meaning “to make, fashion, accomplish, or produce.” When paired with Jehovah, it emphasizes that God is not only Creator in a cosmic sense, but in an intimate, personal one. He is our Maker.
Psalm 100:3 echoes this same truth: “It is he who made us, and we are his.” Not only does He know every detail of our design—He claims us as His own.

You were handcrafted by the God of heaven. You are not random. You are not worthless. Jehovah Hoseenu made you on purpose and for a purpose.
And when you feel broken or inadequate, remember: the One who made you is also the One who can mend you. He’s not done shaping you. You are clay in the hands of a Master Potter (Isaiah 64:8).
