Ori (אוֹרִי) is derived from the Hebrew root or, meaning “light, illumination, or brightness.” When paired with Jehovah, the covenant name of God, it emphasizes a deeply personal truth: “The Lord is my personal light.”
In the New Testament, Jesus says, “I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). In Him, Jehovah Ori shines in fullness.
