Daily Diamonds – Names of God: Jehovah Uzzi (The Lord My Strength)

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped.”Psalm 28:7

There are days when your strength runs out. When your mind is weary, your body is tired, and your heart feels fragile. But there’s a name for those moments—Jehovah Uzzi, “The Lord My Strength.”

This is not borrowed strength. It is divine empowerment, given in real-time to real people with real weakness. David, the warrior-king, did not boast in his own might. He knew the source of every victory, every breath, every recovery—Jehovah Uzzi.

📜 Word Study

Uzzi (עֻזִּי) comes from the Hebrew root oz, meaning “strength, power, or might.” When paired with Jehovah, it becomes deeply personal—“The Lord is my strength.” Not just strength in theory. Strength that sustains, rescues, and revives.

This is the same strength Paul spoke of when he said, “When I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10). Jehovah Uzzi doesn’t remove our weakness—He fills it with Himself.

💎 A Diamond of Truth

God doesn’t need you to be strong—He invites you to lean on His strength. The world says “dig deeper,” but the Word says, “run to the Rock.”

Whether you’re climbing a mountain or crawling through a valley, Jehovah Uzzi is your steady hand. He never tires. He never fades. He never fails.

💬 Reflect and Respond

  • Where in your life are you feeling depleted or overwhelmed?
  • Have you admitted your weakness and invited Jehovah Uzzi to carry you?
  • What would change today if you trusted in His strength instead of your own?

Jehovah Uzzi is not far off. He is the strength of your heart and your portion forever (Psalm 73:26). Rest in Him—and rise again.
