“They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings…” – Revelation 17:14
Jesus is not just a king—He is the King of all kings. Empires rise and fall. Thrones are inherited and toppled. But Jesus reigns forever with unmatched power, perfect justice, and unfailing righteousness. His authority is not given by man—it is eternal and divine.
At His first coming, Jesus wore a crown of thorns. At His return, He will wear many crowns (Revelation 19:12). He will not come on a donkey—but on a white horse, as conquering King. All other rulers will bow. Every tongue will confess. His name will be written across the heavens.
📜 Word Study
King of Kings (Greek: βασιλεὺς βασιλέων, pronounced ba-si-LEVS ba-si-LE-own) is a superlative title of supremacy and sovereign dominance. In biblical usage, it signifies the ultimate ruler over all rulers—one to whom even kings must answer.
In the Old Testament, this phrase was sometimes used of powerful earthly monarchs (e.g., Nebuchadnezzar), but in Revelation, it is applied solely to Jesus Christ, the conquering and eternal King.
💎 A Diamond of Truth
Jesus is not running for office. He cannot be impeached. He does not reign by majority vote—but by divine right. He rules with mercy now and will return with judgment later. In a world that exalts power-hungry men, Jesus stands alone in holiness, wisdom, and eternal kingship.
To call Him King of Kings is to surrender your crown to His. It means bowing before His will, following His Word, and trusting His rule even when the world feels chaotic.
💬 Reflect and Respond
- Is Jesus truly King over your thoughts, desires, and decisions?
- Are you bowing to lesser rulers—like pride, fear, or popularity?
- How can you honor your King today with your loyalty and love?
Lift your eyes. The King of Kings is not far away. He’s ruling now—and He’s returning soon. Every knee will bow… let yours bow today in joy, not later in judgment.
