“Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” – Revelation 5:5
In the hush of heaven, when no one was found worthy to open the scroll, the angel declared, “Behold, the Lion!”—and all eyes turned not to a beast of terror, but to a Lamb who had been slain. Jesus is both—the conquering Lion and the sacrificial Lamb. His authority roars; His mercy bleeds. He is majestic, mighty, and merciful.
The title “Lion of the Tribe of Judah” ties back to Genesis 49:9–10, where Jacob prophesied over his son Judah that a ruler would arise from his line—a lion with unshakable dominion. That Lion is Christ. His kingship is not taken—it is inherited. His victory is not future—it is finished.
