Daily Diamonds – Titles of Jesus: The Word Made Flesh

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”John 1:14

This is one of the most staggering truths in all of Scripture: the eternal Word—who was with God and was God—became flesh. The divine clothed Himself in humanity. The Infinite stepped into time. The Creator entered His creation.

Jesus is not merely a messenger of God’s Word. He is the Word. Every promise, prophecy, and purpose of God is fulfilled in Him. In the Old Testament, the Word created. In the New, the Word walked. In Jesus, the invisible became visible, and the unknowable became touchable.

📜 Word Study

The Word Made Flesh (Greek: ὁ λόγος σὰρξ ἐγένετο, pronounced ho LOG-os sarx e-GEN-e-to)

  • Logos – “word,” “message,” or divine reason. More than spoken words, it denotes God’s ultimate revelation.
  • Sarx – “flesh,” referring to human nature—full embodiment in weakness and mortality.

The phrase doesn’t mean God took on a disguise—it means He became truly human while remaining fully God.

💎 A Diamond of Truth

In Christ, God did not shout from heaven—He stepped into history. He did not send a scroll—He sent His Son. He did not remain distant—He dwelt among us.

And John says, “We beheld His glory.” This isn’t just theology—it’s testimony. Those who walked with Jesus saw something more than a teacher or miracle worker. They saw the radiance of the Father’s grace and truth embodied in a Person.

💬 Reflect and Respond

  • What does it mean to you personally that God became flesh?
  • Are you drawing close to the Word today—or just glancing at the page?
  • In what ways can your life reflect His grace and truth to others?

Worship the Word who became flesh. Follow the One who walked your path. For Jesus is not only the voice of God—He is the face of God made known.
