“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” — 1 Corinthians 3:16, ESV
When you trusted Christ for salvation, the Holy Spirit didn’t simply visit—He moved in. In fact,
✨ All of God Lives Within You
When we speak of the Holy Spirit living in the believer, we must remember: where the Spirit is, the Father and the Son are also. The Bible teaches that the entire Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—takes up residence in the life of the believer. You are not partially filled. You are not occasionally visited. You are fully indwelt.
John 14:23 (ESV): “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”
Galatians 2:20 (ESV): “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
1 Corinthians 6:19 (ESV): “Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God.”
The believer doesn’t carry a portion of God—you carry His presence in full. No wonder the Spirit responds with grief or joy depending on how we live. Your life is now His home. He took up permanent residence in your heart. But here’s the question that sparked this series: How does the Holy Spirit feel living in me?
Scripture reveals the Holy Spirit as a GOD with all His personal attributes —not a force. He can be grieved, quenched, resisted, insulted, and ignored. But He can also be honored, obeyed, rejoiced, and welcomed. This 10-part series explores how our daily choices impact the One who lives within us—and how we can cultivate lives that bring Him joy, not sorrow.
