🚧 The Pursuit that Turned into Panic
Sometimes your enemy thinks they have you cornered. Pharaoh certainly did. Israel was shut in between the sea and the Egyptian army. But God was just setting the stage for a miracle.
Exodus 14:23–24 (KJV)
“And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians.”
Notice—God saw them *through* the cloud. While Israel could not see what was happening, God had His eyes fixed on the threat. He didn’t just observe it—He troubled it.
Even in the darkness, the Lord sees the threat. He sees you.
🛞 The Moment Everything Falls Apart
Exodus 14:25 (KJV)
“And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.”
This is the turning point. The mighty war machines of Pharaoh came to a grinding halt. The wheels were ripped right off. The army that once caused fear now cries out in fear—because they saw the LORD fighting for His people.
God knows how to make the plans of your enemies collapse under their own weight. He doesn’t just slow them down—He disables them completely.
🌊 Final Victory and a Fearful Reverence
Exodus 14:26–31 (KJV)
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians… And Moses stretched forth his hand… and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea… There remained not so much as one of them.”“But the children of Israel walked upon dry land… Thus the LORD saved Israel that day… And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.”
Only God could orchestrate such a reversal. Israel walked through on dry ground—but the enemy sank in the mud. Israel came out in freedom—but Egypt’s chariots were buried beneath the sea.
🌫️ The Glory Cloud Still Covers Us
During this entire miracle, Israel didn’t see the danger clearly—they only saw the cloud. But God saw everything. The glory cloud wasn’t just a guide; it was a shield.
Even today, when we walk through the unknown, we are covered by His presence. We may not realize how close danger is—but He does. He still makes the wheels fall off the enemy’s plan before it ever reaches us.
🔥 Faith Point:
Your faith is never stronger than when you see the hand of God protecting you from a danger you didn’t even know was there.
🎉 Look Back and Believe
When Israel stood on the other side of the Red Sea and looked back at the enemy’s destruction, they finally understood. God had fought for them. God had saved them. God could be trusted.
Sometimes you don’t know how good God has been until you look back. But when you do, like Israel, you will “fear the LORD and believe the LORD” (Exodus 14:31).
🙌 Application
- Are you facing a situation where the enemy seems to be gaining ground? Remember—God sees what you don’t.
- Are you overwhelmed by circumstances beyond your control? Trust the One who can make the wheels fall off.
- Are you standing still, unsure of what to do? Let God fight for you while you stay covered in His presence.
When you walk by faith, God walks ahead. And when the enemy follows too closely—He knows how to stop them in their tracks.
Let the glory cloud guide you. And trust that God sees through it all.
