Daily Diamonds – Promises to Live By: God’s Promise in the Storm

Storms may shake us, but they never shake God’s control.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… When you walk through fire you shall not be burned.” (Isaiah 43:2, ESV)

Storms are an unavoidable part of life. They arrive suddenly, disrupt our plans, and test our faith. God does not promise that storms will never come, but He does promise that they will never come alone.

Notice the language of Scripture: when you pass through the waters, not if. The promise is not avoidance, but accompaniment. God assures His people that no flood and no fire has the authority to destroy what He preserves.

Storms often make us feel small and vulnerable, but they also reveal where our confidence truly rests. When everything familiar is shaken, God remains unshaken. His presence becomes our anchor.

What threatens to overwhelm you today cannot overpower the promises of God. Even in the fiercest storm, His hand remains steady, guiding and guarding His people.

You may feel shaken, but you are secure. You may feel surrounded, but you are not abandoned. The storm does not decide the outcome—God does.

Father, remind me that You are with me in this storm. Help me trust You when the waters rise. Amen.
