Heaven & Eternity

Our forever home with the God who made us.

Overview

Heaven is not a vague hope or a sentimental wish. It is a real, prepared place where God dwells with His people forever (John 14:2-3; Revelation 21).

These studies trace what Scripture actually says about heaven, the new heavens and new earth, the resurrection body, and the rewards and joys of eternity with Christ.

All Scripture quoted on Bible Alive is from the English Standard Version (ESV).

Questions about heaven & eternity

What will heaven be like?+

Revelation 21-22 describes a new heavens and new earth — no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. God Himself will dwell with His people, and we will see His face.

Will we recognize loved ones in heaven?+

Yes. Scripture consistently portrays the redeemed as a real community who know one another (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 17:1-3).

What happens the moment a Christian dies?+

To be 'absent from the body' is to be 'at home with the Lord' (2 Corinthians 5:8). Believers are immediately in the conscious presence of Christ.
