Salvation & the Gospel

The cross, grace, and how to be made right with God.

Overview

Salvation is the heart of the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture tells one unbroken story — a holy God rescuing rebels through the death and resurrection of His Son.

These studies unpack what salvation is, how it is received by grace through faith, and how the gospel reshapes every part of the Christian life.

All Scripture quoted on Bible Alive is from the English Standard Version (ESV).

Questions about salvation & the gospel

What is the gospel?+

The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ — fully God and fully man — lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay for our sins, and rose again, so that everyone who turns from sin and trusts in Him is forgiven and reconciled to God.

How am I saved?+

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is not earned by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is received by repenting of sin and believing in Jesus as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10).

Can I lose my salvation?+

Scripture teaches that those who are truly saved are kept by the power of God (John 10:28-29; 1 Peter 1:5). Genuine saving faith perseveres and bears fruit.
