“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28, ESV)
Weariness is more than physical exhaustion. It is the tiredness of carrying burdens alone—expectations, guilt, fear, and responsibility. Jesus speaks directly to those who are worn down by life.
Rest is not earned; it is received. Jesus does not demand performance before offering peace. He invites us to come honestly, burdened and empty-handed.
True rest comes from releasing control and trusting Christ to carry what we were never meant to bear alone. His rest restores the soul, not just the body.
You may still have responsibilities, but you no longer carry them by yourself.
Rest begins when we stop striving and start trusting.
Prayer:
Jesus, I come to You weary and burdened. Teach me to rest in Your care. Amen.
