The Discipline of Remembering Eternity
Remembering eternity shapes how we live today. When our hearts are fixed on things above, earthly troubles lose their power, earthly pleasures lose their pull, and earthly priorities lose their dominance. We live not for what fades, but for what forever remains.
This discipline draws our attention to the promises of heaven, the return of Christ, the judgment seat, and the glory yet to be revealed. It fuels holiness, generosity, courage, and perseverance. The believer who remembers eternity walks with purpose and hope.
Eternity clarifies what truly matters. It reminds us that our labor in the Lord is not in vain, our suffering is not wasted, and our faithfulness will be rewarded. When heaven fills our vision, Christ fills our hearts.
A heart set on eternity lives wisely in time.
