The Discipline of Zeal and Passion
Holy zeal is the burning desire to know God deeply and serve Him wholeheartedly. It is the fire of devotion that refuses to settle for lukewarm faith. Zeal is not emotional hype; it is love in motion — the soul ignited by the goodness of God and the glory of Christ.
This discipline calls us to stir up our hearts, resist spiritual complacency, and stay near the flame of God’s presence. Passion grows when we remember His mercy, meditate on His greatness, and cultivate a life of worship and obedience. The more we behold Christ, the more our hearts burn within us.
Zeal expresses itself in service, sacrifice, boldness, joy, and perseverance. A passionate believer is hard to discourage, quick to praise, and eager to do the will of God. The world may cool our love, but the Spirit rekindles it daily as we seek Him.
A heart on fire for Christ warms the cold world around it.
