In 1 John 1:1–4, the apostle John opens his letter with a bold eyewitness testimony: Jesus Christ is “the Word of life,” revealed in history—heard, seen, and even touched. John is not offering religious ideas; he is proclaiming a living Person who was “from the beginning” and was made manifest for our salvation. This passage shows why the gospel is trustworthy, why Christian faith is grounded in truth, and why real joy is never found in isolation. John writes so that we may share in fellowship with the apostles, and ultimately with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
